Ashlar Lodge No. 98 F. & A. M. Recognizes Outstanding JROTC Cadets
April 20, 2017 - Ashlar Lodge No. 98 in St. Augustine, FL recognized six St. Johns County high school students during its Stated Communication on April 20, 2017 as Outstanding JROTC Cadets for 2017. The cadets are from St. Augustine High School’s Jacket Battalion (Army JROTC), Nease Panther Navy (Navy JROTC), and Bartram Trail Air Force JROTC (pictured above from left to right).
Cadet 1ST Angelica Green has been selected to be Jacket Battalion Commander for 2017-18. She is an outstanding student and plans to attend college on a JROTC Scholarship.
Cadet SGT Joseph Bunyon is a member of Jacket Battalion Raider Team and spearheaded the establishment of a marksmanship program for the battalion.
Cadet Senior Master SGT Ethan Griner, Bartram Trail AFJROTC, is also an Eagle Scout who has held leadership position in scouting and completed the Gate River Run in 2017.
Cadet LTC Michael Ackerman, Bartram Trail AFJROTC, is the unit’s deputy commander for physical training. He recently competed his Eagle Scout project and has achieve the highest rank in Scouting.
Cadet Command Master Chief Cali Vaught, Nease Panther Navy, will attend Auburn University on a full four-year JROTC scholarship in fall 2017. She plans to become a U.S. Marine Officer.
Cadet Ensign Erin Sass, Nease Panther Navy, is an outstanding athlete and student. She will attend the prestigious NJROTC Leadership Academy this summer.
Each Cadet was presented Grand Lodge of Florida Certificate, an Ashlar Lodge Challenge Coin, and an honorarium. The presentations were made by Oscar Patterson III, Worshipful Master of Ashlar Lodge.
