Friends and Family Night to Kick Off the Holiday Season Together
November 16, 2023
Ashlar Lodge kicked off the holiday season with a Family and Friends Night. It was a great turnout and a busy night of fun and festivities!
We recognized R.W. Tom Kolieot by presenting him his 40 Year Certificate - (7 years late). We look forward to presenting him his 50 year certificate in three years!
We recognize all the veterans in the room and then we recognize the veterans who are Masons in the room.
Brigadier General Rich Coffey spoke about the soldiers we recognized. They are Sgt Joshua Todd Kirby - Army Solider of the Year and SSgt Huy Dinh - Air Force Member of the Year. They were presented with certificates of appreciation. (SSgt Dinh couldn't make it, so his CO accepted for him).
Brother Bobby Butterfield spoke briefly about Fire Chief Carlos Aviles who has recently retired from the Army Reserves as SSgt Carlos Aviles and we recognized him with a certificate of appreciation.
We recognized another special guest, Colonel Neil Richardson (Retired) and thanked him for his service.
RW Troy Usina presented W. Tom Torretta with a cutting board made of acacia wood with the Freemason symbol on one side and the list of 2023 officers on the other side.
RW Walt Barner spoke about the origins of the Pledge of Allegience and that it was initially written by a Freemason.
Santa and his helper paid a visit and met with all the kids (young and old).
Brian Iannucci played a great variety of music to entertain everyone.
We then had a raffle drawing and gave away the prizes.
It was a fun night and a great way to get the holiday season started with our brothers, their families and friends and those in the community who help keep us safe and free every day.
Thanks to everyone who came out. We hope you had a great time!
Thanks especially to everyone who helped us pull the event off! You outdid yourselves!
The Brothers of Ashlar Lodge wishes everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah and All the Best in 2024!
